Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 20, 2026 · Last updated: September 22, 2026

KINONE is operated by Being Creative Solutions, LLC (“KINONE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how KINONE accesses, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the KINONE mobile application, website, and related services.

1. Information we collect

Depending on the features you choose to use, KINONE may collect or process:

  • Account information: name, email address, profile photo, account identifiers, authentication and account status.
  • Family information: family membership, relationship labels, roles, invitations, sharing settings, and family preferences.
  • Location information: approximate or precise location, including background location when you explicitly enable continuous family location sharing or place alerts.
  • Device and app information: device type, operating system, push-notification token, app version, and technical information needed for reliability, security, and notifications.
  • Communications: messages and related metadata you send through family chat, plus call session information needed to connect voice or video calls.
  • Media you choose to provide: profile images, photos or videos shared in chat, camera/video input during calls, and QR-code camera access while a scanner is open.
  • Safety and activity information: SOS events, place events, trip information, recent motion/activity status inferred from location movement, and related timestamps.
  • Camera connection information: if and when Camera & Smart Home integrations become available, KINONE may process camera provider, device details, sharing choices, and connection configuration that you choose to provide.
  • Subscription and purchase information: plan status and purchase identifiers needed to provide paid features. Payment-card details are handled by Apple, Google Play, or other authorized payment providers and are not stored by KINONE.
  • Assistant information: prompts and relevant family context you choose to use with KINONE assistant features.

2. How we use information

  • create and maintain your account and private family space;
  • show shared family locations and keep location sharing working in the background when enabled;
  • provide place alerts, safety events, trips, maps, chats, calls, notifications, and future Camera & Smart Home connections when those integrations become available;
  • process subscriptions and determine feature access;
  • provide assistant features when requested;
  • detect abuse, troubleshoot problems, protect accounts, and improve reliability.

3. Location data and foreground services

Location sharing is optional. KINONE requests foreground location only when needed for location-based features. If you choose continuous family location sharing or place alerts, KINONE may request background location and use an Android foreground location service so your selected family can receive updated location while KINONE is not open. Android displays a persistent notification while that foreground service is active. You can turn location sharing off at any time in KINONE or revoke location permission in device settings.

4. How information is shared

KINONE does not sell personal information. Information is shared only as needed to provide the service, at your direction, for security/legal reasons, or with service providers acting on our behalf.

  • Your family: information such as location, status, messages, and other family content is shared only according to the family and member settings you choose. Future camera access will follow the same family-controlled sharing principle when available.
  • Infrastructure and authentication providers: including Supabase for account, database, storage, and backend services.
  • Mapping and notification providers: including Google Maps/Google services, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple notification services, and Expo services where applicable.
  • Voice/video providers: including LiveKit and related real-time communication infrastructure for calls you initiate or answer.
  • App-store and payment providers: Apple and Google Play for app distribution, subscriptions, and purchases.
  • AI service providers: when you intentionally use KINONE assistant features, relevant prompt/context data may be sent to an AI processing provider solely to generate the requested response.
  • Camera providers: when Camera & Smart Home integrations become available and you choose to connect a supported third-party camera, information may be exchanged with that provider or with your camera on your local network as necessary to provide the connection.

5. Camera, microphone, photos, and local network access

KINONE requests camera, microphone, photo-library, or local-network access only for features that need them, such as profile photos, chat media, QR scanning, private voice/video calls, or future compatible local camera access when Camera & Smart Home integrations become available. Permission can be denied or revoked through your device settings. KINONE does not activate a home camera merely because the app is installed.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide KINONE, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce agreements. Some family-history retention periods may depend on the selected plan or feature.

You may request deletion of your KINONE account and associated personal data by emailing hello@getkinone.com from the email address associated with your account and writing “Delete my KINONE account” in the subject. We will verify the request and delete or de-identify associated data except where retention is required by law, necessary for fraud/security records, or needed to protect the rights of other users.

7. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including authenticated access controls, restricted family membership, secure network transport, and limited service access based on the feature being used. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Children and family use

KINONE is a family service, but it is not intended for independent use by children below the minimum age permitted to create an online account in their jurisdiction. Parents or guardians should supervise a minor’s use of KINONE and control family invitations, sharing settings, and permissions as appropriate.

9. International processing

KINONE and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border processing.

10. Your choices and rights

You can control location sharing, notifications, and many other permissions from KINONE and your device settings. Camera sharing controls will be available if and when Camera & Smart Home integrations launch. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of certain personal information. Contact us to exercise applicable rights.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as KINONE evolves. We will update the “Last updated” date above and provide additional notice when required by applicable law.
